Dear Anne, What a great tribute to your father. It is wonderful to know just how much your father meant to you and to all the people he served whjole heartedly in his lifetime. I found your article particularly moving as I lost my father 3 months ago. It all still seems very surreal and hard to believe. The last 3 months seems like a haze and it is only now that it is sinking in that he is no longer around. Little things are now no longer that little and taken for granted. It is my birthday in 2 weeks time and I will miss his usual phone call first thing in the morning wishing me a happy birthday. How we all take our loved ones for granted and just assume that they will always be around! The lesson I am learning is to make the most of each day and appreciate all the people in our lives. I am also finally appreciating my father for who he was, what he stood for and the lessons he taught us. You spoke of your father in such a large context, with so many enlightened souls existing, working, walking in the same path as he. Thank you so much for using your grief to produce such a lovely, meaningful tribute to your father. I know it does and will inspire many. And allow us to wake up to what/who we already have while it is/they are with us, not when it is too late. I can see that you were brought up with values that run very deeply and that give meaning and beauty to you life, so much significant than the material. What a guiding light that has been for you, and for me, too. And the older I get, the more I realize the profound message of my pa's life and its influence on so many others. I can also see that you are following the path your father took. And that is very, very much needed in today's world where profits over people has become the norm.
