During the Teej Festival, which takes place every summer, Hindu women perform bathing rituals in the Bagmati River to wash away their sins. They dress in traditional red saris, or bridal clothes, for the three-day celebration, during which they also sing, dance and pray for successful marriages and long-lived husbands.
