When photographer Jack Gescheidt was walking in the woods of Marin County, California, one day in 2003, he was mesmerized by a 250-year-old oak tree. After he captured the tree for the first time with his camera, he started The TreeSpirit Project, offering volunteer models a chance to connect with nature.
